This week has been a long one, come to think of it... the last 10+ days have been a bit hectic. We've been so darn busy with the start of summer vacation for the boys, and after only one day- poor Zach got a nasty tummy flu. He was down from Tuesday (I thought he was just pooped from his first day in the pool) and wasn't feeling himself until Friday night.
Lucky for us, our friend Joni and her two little people came up Saturday. It was perfect after a long week cooped up in the house! (And YES... I do put clothes on them... they just have a way of being thrown back at me!)

We had the most delicious summertime bbq- sweet corn, bbq chicken, and strawberries fresh from the strawberry patch!
I don't know what it is about sweet baby girls around here lately... but this little princess had all of us wrapped around her sweet little finger. My dad was sharing his birthday cake, and swinging her on the swing. Zach was putting her sandals on for her... but who could resist that face?
On Father's day, we went to Woodland, and shared the day with my family. My grandma has not been given long to live- so it was important for us to make sure her birthday was a special one. I took her some of those yummy strawberries, cut her hair for her... and sat poolside next to her for most of the afternoon.
The Dear ol' Dad's in this bunch ended up working in the kitchen and bbq areas... while us ol' hens sat yapping... but they survived! :)
I've also survived this week after the bad news that our daycare is closing. There are only a couple of places in the town Zach attends school, and with several kids misplaced... the competition was fierce. Sadly, I picked the wrong one to sign up with... because when I went to check it out- let's just say it wasn't the place for us!
I have juggled a few different trusted friends... and should be able to take care of childcare needs until the end of summer.
And, to put one more layer of 'fun' in our hectic life... John and I are jumping hoops for the mortgage company. We are buying the house and property we currently live in- but it might as well be a new purchase as far as they are concerned. We and my parents went in on the property 11 years ago... but in order to get their name off of the paperwork... we have to 'buy' it from them.
Our credit was excellent, our paperwork is in order... and we had our appraisal this morning. (So for anyone who's been to my very well lived in house... you can imagine the chaos around here!) We had to be sure to finish up all of our projects, so the house looked in order. So we've been running around finishing window trims, touching up paint.... and cleaning the construction mess up outside! It would be a big red flag for the bank to see 'construction' going on in the pictures.
I think it's out of our hands now... but if it goes through.. our payment will go down $300 a month... and that would make me verrrrrry happpppy! :)
The boys were so good when the appraisal lady was here... so after they left... we busted out our newest art project, sat on the kitchen floor and had fun!

I got them some new train stamps and oversized ink pads. The ink was supposed to be 'washable'... sigh.

It was just nice to sit and take some pictures of the boys playing. Heck, it was just nice to sit!

Poor Kyle is starting to not feel so hot today- I think his brother might have been kind enough to share his germs. (sigh, grumble, sigh) Good thing it's almost Friday!
And by my calculations... it should be mid-July before I get to sit down again.
