I stole this recipe, and tweeked it just a bit. If you want the original, check out this website ~(http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/)
Banana Split Ice Cream Cake..
This recipe is made in a spring-form pan- the bigger the better. In a Ziploc, or a food processor... smoosh about 20 oreos (filling and all!) and 2 tsp melted butter. Spread it in the bottom of the pan to make a crust.
Slice 4-5 bananas to make one layer in the bottom of the crust. Pour one jar of hot fudge, slightly warmed on the bananas. Place in freezer for about 15 minutes. (This would be a good time to pull out your strawberry ice cream/frozen yogurt.)
The original recipe calls for a pint of strawberry ice cream. I purchased an (almost) 1/2 gallon of frozen strawberry yogurt... and used about 2/3 of it. Spread it onto your bananas... doing your best not to mix up the fudge.
Place the whole pan back into the freezer, about 15 minutes... and pull out the vanilla (ice cream/frozen yogurt) container.
I used about 2/3 of a 1/2 gallon of vanilla frozen yogurt, but you could use your favorite vanilla ice cream. I think Vanilla Bean would be enough to send this into outer space~
Put this pan o' heaven back in the freezer. Do yourself a favor and keep it there at least all night- anything less and it's too soft to cut.
The recipe calls for a bag of frozen strawberries, thawed to garnish before serving. You can also put whipped cream, nuts and maraschino cherries to really make the full effect of the 'banana split'. I think the original recipe called for crushed pineapple, as a garnish too.
Ta-da... you will have the most incredible 'slice' of a banana split your waistline could ever handle! Enjoy... go forth and mix up the recipe and/or change the layers around to your liking.
Either way... it will remind you of when a banana split at the ice cream shop with Grandma was as Good as it Gets!
(BTW... when you get ready to serve it, run a knife around the edge, pop the pan open- slice with a sharp knife... and hide a piece for later.)
I'm just sayin....
