So I have had a few search parties sent out to check on me.
I am alive... really.
I feel like I am on an episode of Extreme Home Makeover... but I am the one building the house in a week. lol.
We set a goal of Labor Day weekend to be at a point we could stop working on the house for the rest of the year. This way, we could enjoy the boys birthdays, and of course, the upcoming holidays. This means we are burning the midnight oil almost every night.
Then, of course.. .my sweet dad took vacation to help us on OUR house. Then John and Dad discovered something very wrong with HIS house. There was dry rot in the water heater closet, and the only thing keeping it from falling through the floor, was the earthquake straps.
So, John and my dad have been working to replace the flooring, and they had to put up new siding- which meant all the windows and doors on the back of the house had to come out. Those poor fellows have been working in the heat, and well into the morning hours to get it all done.
Needless to say, I looked at the BOXES of tiles I had to install- and I thought- I can do it all myself!
I did pretty good- I laid them out, used the tile saw to cut them, mixed 50 lbs of thin set, and set them all in place. (I could barely walk after that... ) I was SOOOOO proud of myself. I got 2 of the 4 rooms done... and tonight I finished the mud room. I also got all the painting done... Now just have the bathroom floor left to do!
I am exhausted. (We have had some help thanks to my brother and sis-in-law... THANKS!)

And this is why the blog has been absent. Sorry.
Oh, and did I mention I hosted a little family get together for my parents 35th wedding anniversary?? It was lots of fun... good thing family doesn't mind a little construction dust!

Tomorrow we are going to pick up the carpet, and the tile for the shower walls. John took the day off, thankfully...
So we are going to start our morning out by attending Zach's kindergarten orientation. He gets to spend some time in his new classroom... and meet... gulp... his new teacher.
He starts school on Monday. I am sure he'll be fine... :(
Okay, hopefully that catches everyone up for a little while. I am sure I'll be so bored soon that I'll be back to bloggin all the time! (Sorry about the order of pictures... still trying to figure the new website out!)
Have a good one!
